SH:   Chris has been touring the U.S., as I am with Europe, but it
doesn’t stop us with our recording, plus time improves the quality of
production ideas and songs. We’re sending stems to a famous drummer at
the moment, so the ball’s in his court whilst we wait for its return.
WOG: Wow! I didn't know that... the Squacketts is becoming quite the
'Super Group!' Have you and Chris determined roughly when you will
return to the studio following your respective tours to complete that
new studio collaboration?
Any ideas?  (dont say Bruford)

Reading this Hackett interview I just read that SH has experienced a
divorce, with Kim. Wow. This woman was so much a part of his life and
career, with her art all over his music. The tune "Kim" I think I whistle
the flute melody frequently for decades now. I always have admired this
melody.

Most sad. When a couple spends a lifetime together why the hell not see it
through while there is so much romance? Not saying it's anyone's fault, but
good Lord! When you get old, like we all obviously are getting to. I have
been married to the greatest woman that I ever could have been blessed with
since 1983. So, I am the lucky one. I love my wife, Colleen.

That's great that you love your wife. But don't call me Colleen.

By the time of their separation, Steve and Kim had not "lived as husband and
wife" (as the British press like to put it) for many, many years...

Where has this tidbit of information been reported? Has Steve and
Kim's affairs been aired on the UK equivalent of "Inside Edition" or
"THe National Enquirer?"

Last night I read a bit more just Googling _Steve Hackett Kim Poor Divorce_,
and reading on SH's website. While the news was indeed sad (made public in
January), it seems that if there ever was an amicable end of a marriage this
is it. The tune "Kim" will never be the same when I hear it though. While it
really isn't my business, or our business why... when people who strive to
be in the celebrity spotlight, or depend on the public to make their riches,
and make music and art based on their romance, it is only going to magnify
the negative with the positive. Just ask Rihanna and Chris Brown. If you
publicize yourself to the public you have to also accept that the public
that pays your bills will scrutinize your private life. In this case, it
seems that Steve and Kim have taken the high road in what is often an uglier
scene.

Here's the question that no one's asking, though: Does this mean Kim is
available??

to bit(e)s ;) See the last posting here. Apparently this is "news" of
about two years ago already. Some found out about it only more than
one year ago. Some of us, only now:

Bruford wouldn't want to work with Squire anyway.

Phil Collins?
Squire and Collins? That would be pretty unlikely, methinks. My silly
wild-ass guess would be more along the lines of Simon Phillips or
perhaps even Terry Bozzio. Phil Ehart would be a cool choice too.

As are lots of folks! But when Steve says "famous drummer" I expect he
means famous to the average Joe, not just other musicians.

Yeah, there's that. Who knows, maybe Steve thinks Ehart is famous.
Stranger things have happened.
